- There are lots of reasons to get storage, both for personal and business needs:
- What kind of lease is involved?
- Storage leases are almost always Month-to-Month leases and are relatively simple, but be sure to read them before signing.
- How secure are my belongings?
- Storage sites are generally secure. Security features do vary widely and you may want to take that into account when choosing a unit to rent. Our locations make diligent efforts to help protect your items with features such as locking gates, cameras, motion sensing lights and alarms, and solid construction. However, criminals are creative and sometimes very motivated so we are unable to guarantee the security of your belongings. We do suggest that tenants add their stored items to their home owners or renters insurance policies, or purchase Tenant Insurance through a reliable provider. We suggest using Safestor to insure your items, and our site managers can make that an easy process for you.
- How should I store my items?
- First, make sure that you don’t store any food items in the unit
- We suggest boxing up small items before bringing them to your unit
- Stack large items, like furniture, in the back of the unit and work your way out

- We highly suggest draping plastic over your items to protect against dust and moisture

- How do I pay?
- Each storage site offers various payment options that may include:
- Cash
- Check
- Money order
- Credit Card
- Auto payment with credit card
- Online payment via:
- Credit card
- Checking account
- Most sites have a drop box for after house payments, and of course, you can always mail in your payments.
- Each storage site offers various payment options that may include:
- I hear that your belongings can be auctioned if you are late on your payment.
- Technically, this is true, but it’s not that simple. Storage sites have the right to hold a public auction on units that are more than 30 days late. But we don’t just start selling things because you accidentally forgot to send in your payment. We take great efforts to avoid auctions and the law protects tenants by having us send out certified letters to those who are in danger of having their unit auctioned.
- If you are the type of person that pays your bills, auctions really shouldn’t be an issue for you.
- What if I decide I need a different size unit?
- No problem, our managers can easily transfer your account to another unit that is more appropriate for your needs.
- What do I do when I am ready to move out?
- The first thing is to give us notice. The more notice we have the better we can prorate your last month’s payment for you.
- Empty and sweep out the unit.
- Close the unit door, but leave it unlocked.
- And that’s it – its that easy!
