Packing your entire life into small boxes isn't necessarily the easiest or most fun thing to do. Following these few tips will make the process flow a little easier. Take time to breathe. Packing is a long process. Allowing yourself adequate time to properly store your items will allow for better organization, less stress during, and peace of mind after you've packed. - Store similar things from the same room in one box. Put DVD's, CD's, VHS and maybe remote controls in the same box. From the kitchen, put all silverware, cooking utensils, and measuring cups, etc. together. Keeping this order will help in the unpacking process.
- Label each box with "Content" and "Location". Labeling a box "Master Bathroom - Toiletries" is a sure way to have it go directly there on move day. Less specific labels and certain box characteristics will be forgotten before you know it.
- Strategically plan your storage. Use our Organizing Strategy to maximize your storage and facilitate the move process. There is more to this than simply putting what you'll use most near the front, so check it out.
- Pack things correctly. Use our Specific Items guide to help in making a decision on how to pack certain things. Breakables, leathers, and more are discussed. Your things may be in storage for a while. Make sure they're properly stored.
